Present Technology
MECHANICAL(MULTIJET) METER
- Contains a turbine or impeller that spins as water flows through it. The rotation of the turbine is proportional to Flow rate of water
- Consist of moving parts, Wear and tear over time which effects change in accuracy
- Starting flow approx. 5-10 l/h
- Dynamic flow range usually R80-R160 (low accuracy in measurement)
- Air is also counted
- No alarms available (leakage, tampering, No water , pipe burst)
- Only horizontal mounting possible which at times result in meter submerging in water during rains
- Causing pressure drop due to flow obstruction
- Periodic maintenance required
